I designed this memorial blanket for my niece’s birthday. I told her, “Whenever you miss your mommy, wrap the blanket around you and know that she is there hugging you.” . I filtered through my late sister’s memory box filled with her daughter, Lacey’s artwork and cards she’s received and kept throughout her life. I then scanned my favorite pieces of my sister’s and my niece’s handwriting and incorporated them as elements of the blanket design. All signatures are Angie’s except “Mommy” was written by my niece. .
